3D and Digital illustrations

While there are several types and styles of illustrations but digitally rendered illustrations are becoming popular with time. Special effects and eye-catching visuals are what people find appealing nowadays. Digital illustrations such as a CGI illustration needs to comply with the standards of design, distribution and production. The quality of design needs to be dynamic enough to leave a lasting impression on the mind of the observer. When I create such illustrations, I make sure it holds some purpose for the viewer as other than having quality design it should not be bland and monotonous. What is your opinion about digital illustrations?
